Getting started
What is on-lot vehicle merchandising?
It’s the printed pieces that ride on the cars for sale: windshield banners, body sides, small marks on the glass, hang tags and QR graphics. Each one carries a message about that car or the store, like the year and model, a fresh trade, a certified mark or a sales event, so a shopper can read it from the aisle.
Do you only work with dealerships?
Lot Sherpa does: it’s the dealership line of Silver Fox Marketing. For storefronts, contractors and their fleets, churches, schools and events, Silver Fox Marketing does the same design, print and install, at sfoxmarketing.com.
Why should I do business with you?
That’s a great question. Because we care. We care about you, your project, and we want you to be completely satisfied. We want you to be so jazzed about our products, service, and performance that you will tell everyone you know about us and how we did such a fantastic job. Whether it’s business cards, a full branding campaign, or cut vinyl store hours we want to do the very best we can every time. Not to mention we have been doing this awhile, we make great relationships with our customers, and have a ton of repeat customers. This is a marathon not a sprint, and we want to finish the race with you on our backs.
How do I get started?
Contact us by text, phone call, email, or carrier pigeon. If you are close to South St. Louis, just stop by our shop and meet the gang. We would like to meet and talk to you about your project. We want to understand your goals and hear your ideas. We will help you through the process by sharing our expertise and making recommendations. We like to collaborate! We will need measurements, photos, and possibly a site survey to get you the most accurate estimate for your project.
Don’t wait, start now!
Can we see it before it prints?
Yes. Custom work comes to you as a proof, and nothing prints until you approve it. The Vehicle Graphics Builder also lets you try every shape on a RAV4, a Wrangler or a Silverado at its printed size.
Orders and turnaround
How fast can you turn an order around?
Most work turns around in 48–72 hours, with rushes when you need them. Setting up a new monthly program takes up to about a week.
Do you install, or do we?
Either. Our installers run routes across the St. Louis area and out to Columbia and Jefferson City. Stock pieces and plenty of custom ones ship, or you can pick them up at our shop.
Do you install signs and building graphics?
Yes. Our installers put up window graphics, signs, banners and wall graphics across the St. Louis area. They’re fully insured, and we handle the equipment rental and the permitting on the bigger jobs.
Windshields and the lot
What goes on a windshield banner?
Usually the year, the model and two or three facts worth knowing, set big enough to read from a distance. Traffic-sign research has long found that a glance takes in three or four short words (Bullough, Lighting Research Center), so we keep the headline short and put the detail in a smaller line or behind a QR code.
Where do the pieces go on the car?
Everything on the windshield sits on the passenger side, so the driver’s view stays clear: banners along the top edge, Fresh Trade marks down the pillar, model-year triangles and ovals in the passenger corners. ShortCut placards go on the front door glass, and the Buyers Guide and window label go side by side on a rear side window.
What is in a ShortCut Pack?
A windshield graphic plus a QR code graphic placed elsewhere on the vehicle, on the other side of the windshield or on another window. The QR opens that car’s details on your website.
Files and artwork
Can you print the logo from my website or my cell phone on a sign?
We can and this is a good start, however for most jobs we will need high resolution files for print. We want the end product to be crystal clear from really close and look amazing from far away. I can bore you with all the technical jargon, but it’s best to let your Nerd talk to our Nerd, they speak the same language.
What if I don’t have the right logo file type for my project?
Don’t worry, one of our experienced designers should be able to re-create your logo in vector format. Depending on the logo, it could take minutes or hours, so this may add to your design time and final bill.
After the order is designed do I get the files?
Our designers create the artwork files specific to the design of your custom project. That artwork remains the property of Silver Fox Marketing. We do however offer branding and logo design solutions that can be purchased. This would provide you with the rights to the artwork for future projects. Please talk with your sales representative about these options and services available.
Can I text or email you print files?
We have to get started somewhere, however please know the best files are AI, EPS and PDF. If you are unable to open it on your phone, laptop or home computer that’s a good sign! Send it over and we can take a look. Sometimes we have to use an online server to transfer bigger files, but no worries we’re good at this.
Showroom glass
Do you know if we are allowed to have window graphics on our building?
Depending on the municipality, some buildings can only cover a percentage of the windows, while some can have the whole window covered and others do not allow it at all. We have completed jobs all over the Metro area and are rehearsed in what they require.
Do you offer Interior graphics?
Why yes we do, along with a full array of merchandising products. We’ve been printing roll to roll wide format products for over 15 years. There’s not many jobs we turn away and love a challenge. Give us a call and we’ll be right over. What’s for dinner?
Vehicle wraps
How much does a vehicle wrap cost?
Professionally installed vinyl graphics with the highest quality materials will cost between $500-$5,000+. We can give you a few options at different price points accommodating your needs while working within your budget. This is what we do, and we’re pretty darn good… and modest too!
How long does a vinyl wrap take to install?
Install time varies based on the size and scope of the job. Same day for smaller projects, and up to a week for a full wrap. Either way we will protect your baby as if it were our own. By the way, we are fully insured and covered to protect your investment.
How long does a vehicle wrap last if you take good care of it?
A vinyl wrap will have a life expectancy of 5-8 years, depending on how well the wrap is cared for. Don’t worry, we will cover all of this in depth when we deliver your completed vehicle. We will also offer you a wrap care kit before you leave our shop.
Paying
When do I pay?
Once your estimate has been approved, a 50% deposit is required before we can start your project. The remaining balance is due when the project is finished. We accept all major credit cards, cash and check. If you are a returning customer, you can pay in full when the job is complete. We may even add you to our Christmas list!
