Printed vinyl or magnets? For body sides, nearly always vinyl.
Nearly all the body sides we print are vinyl applied to the paint. Magnets have their place: on a cargo banner that comes off the van when the event ends, and on the sales board, where the names change with the team.

How each one holds, and where we use it
| Printed vinyl | Magnet | |
|---|---|---|
| How it holds | Applied to the paint, flush with the body | A magnetic sheet that holds to a steel panel |
| What it needs under it | Clean paint | Steel: a magnet won’t hold to aluminum, fiberglass or plastic |
| The door gap | Cut at the gap, so the doors still open | A separate piece for each panel |
| Coming off | Removed when the event ends | Lifted off by hand and put back on |
| Where we use it | Nearly all our body sides, door graphics and lettering | Cargo banners on a magnetic mount, and sales-board name magnets |

Questions
About vinyl and magnets
Why vinyl for body sides?
It lies flush with the paint and follows the body, and it’s cut at the door gap so the doors still open.
When is a magnet the better choice?
When the piece moves: a cargo banner that comes off the van when the event ends, or a name on the sales board that changes with the team.
Will a magnet hold on any car?
Only on a steel panel. A magnet won’t hold to aluminum, fiberglass or plastic.
